Medical Records Clerk

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

1)  Workflow

a)  Responds to and processes e-mail requests from clinical staff within 48 hours.

b)  Faxes and/or emails client information to courts, probation, etc. accurately.

c)  Provides back up coverage in reception and enrollment, as needed.

d)  Assists clients with telehealth appointments and coordinates scheduling between Telehealth clinicians and OBHC ZOOM rooms.

e)  Assists in gathering client signatures on documents via in-person, mail or e-mail.

f)  Properly and clearly explains to clients and/or community members the process of entering MH, Medication Management as well as SUD services.

g)  Answers overflow main line phone calls promptly and professionally.

h)  Processes incoming faxes and directs them to the appropriate staff member within 48 hours of receiving.

2)  Electronic Health Record

a)  Ensures medical records meet or exceed WAC and contractual record compliance

b)  Imports documents into the EHR accurately and timely.

c)  Give feedback for improvement opportunities when noticed.

3)  Attendance and Punctuality

a)  Ensures attendance and hours worked are accurately recorded in computerized timekeeping system

b)  Properly manages paid time off (PTO)

c)  Responsible for regular, predictable attendance and to work hours as scheduled, which may include evenings or weekends

PROFESSIONAL & TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE

  • Must possess a high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
  • Possesses specific knowledge of administrative processes and practices, typically learned "on the job," or which may include a series of training sessions that would comprise a few weeks if done consecutively.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

·  Prepares basic correspondence and simple reports in Microsoft Word.

·  Uses Microsoft Excel to create tables and simple displays of information.

·  Demonstrates necessary proficiency with all electronic clinical systems, including EHR and scheduling systems, in use at the health center.

Starting Salary: $19.90 - $21.25 per hour DOE. This is an hourly, non-exempt position.
